Screenings:
Never Odd or Even premiered
at the 2009 Broad Humor Film Festival in Venice,
California, on June 14th, 2009. It was part of the
“Legacy Shorts” were other Broad Humor alumni came
back to show their latest works. The film was very
well received by the Broad Humor audience.
Never Odd or Even was then
an official selection of the 2009 West Hollywood
International Film Festival. We were all very proud to
have been chosen and couldn’t have been happier with
the venue. The film screened on August
9th at the Hollywood Roosevelt
hotel, in the same room the first Academy Award
ceremony took place.
On October
21st, 2009, Director Julia
Camara was invited to lecture at the Universidade of
Fortaleza in Ceara, Brazil. She made sure the crowd
got a chance to watch the film. The film’s first
international screening was a success with laughter
and applause from the audience.
On February 27th, 2010,
Never Odd or Even screened at the New York Independent
International Film festival. The screening took place
at the Culver Plaza Theater across from Sony studios.
Later, we heard the film won Best Conceptual Comedy
Short. The award ceremony will take place later in the
year and we’re very excited the film has been so well
received.
On April 28th, 2010, Never
Odd or Even screened at the Los Angeles Brazilian Film
Festival. Julia had the opportunity to screen her film
due to her Brazilian heritage. There were a film other
English language shorts in the competition and it was
an honor to be selected to screen with them.
