Scream Machine

Time seems to be escaping my grasp lately. We are on the final stages of finishing “Scream Machine”, our latest short film. We are also in pre-production of “Open Road”, our first feature film. Wearing many hats and juggling multiple things is always fun, but there are moments when I feel completely exhausted. It’s all worth it, at the end of the day. Here’s the trailer for “Scream Machine.” Enjoy!

May has been an exciting month so far. I heard earlier in the month one of my short stories will be published in August.

Also, the paperwork is in for our LLC. Our official name is Alice Films, LLC.

But the really great news of May is the official release of

LABRFF shines a spotlight on the creativity, talent and beauty of the Brazilian cinema

With a long list of celebrities, notables and the like in attendance – from both the American and Brazilian movie industry – the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) kicked off its 2010 edition with plenty of anticipation.
The
Landmark Theatre is West L.A. was the stage for the festival that opened this past Tuesday, April 27 with the premiere of "Adrift" ('À Deriva'), by director Heitor Dhalia with Vincent Cassel and Camilla Belle.
Prior to the showing, the distinguished guests, TV and movie stars strolled over the red carpet where a wide array of media personnel battled for their attention and statements.

After the movie, an exciting after-party got underway on the third floor, where  snacks, appetizers, and drinks fueled the crowd into the dance floor until late in the evening.

The vibe was definitely a positive one during the entire night and to say the festival opening was a success is probably an understatement. More likely the LABRFF will grow larger and next year, it will capture even more the attention of Hollywood and the general public as well.

Feature Film

Big exciting news! We have started pre-production on a feature film. It’s a road movie called “Open Road.” There will soon be a website devoted to the film itself. Until then, you can always check this site for more updates.

road

I’m also in the process of setting up my LLC. My desired name is Alice Films, fingers crossed that it will be available.

Here’s a short synopsis of the film:

“Open Road” is a drama and a road movie exploring a character’s desire for solitude and freedom from the modern world’s traps.

A woman running from her past lives her life on the road. She meets a Highway Patrol Officer after a car breakdown and settles down in a small town. Things get serious between the two of them, and she’ll have to face her past in order to have a future.

And just a quick F.Y.I., I wrote “Open Road” in the month of April as part of the 2010 script frenzy this year. I have since done two more re-writes, but I being a part of script frenzy really helped get it done.
