Julia Camara is a Brazilian writer/filmmaker living in Los Angeles with her husband and partner in crime Tim Aldridge. She has a B.A. in cinema from Columbia College-Hollywood. Julia is also a UCLA Professional Program in Screenwriting alumna. She has written several feature length screenplays and produced/directed several short films. Julia also freelances as a Portuguese translator for film and TV subtitling.

In 2009, Julia wrote the screenplay for “
Area Q,” a sci-fi drama which stars Isaiah Washington and Brazilian actors Murilo Rosa and Tânia Khalil. “Area Q” is currently in post-production and scheduled for release in October of 2010.

Also in 2009, Julia wrote and directed a five-minute comedy short film "
Never Odd or Even." The short premiered at the Broad Humor Film Festival, was selected to screen at the West Hollywood International Film Festival, the New York International Independent Film Festival and the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival. "Never Odd or Even" won Best Conceptual Comedy Short at the New York International Independent Film Festival.

Another one of her short films, "
Reduced to Dust," is available for sale on DVD at CreateSpace.com. One of Julia's short stories "Jail Bird" was published by FreightTrain, an online magazine.

Julia is currently developing “Open Road,” a feature drama and a road movie she wrote. This will be Julia’s feature directorial debut.
